Indeed, this year too, ABCD will include not only exhibition areas, conferences, workshops, and round tables (which have always characterised the event held in Genoa as the ideal venue to meet and exchange views), but also several areas devoted to specific themes:
TECHNOLOGY: ABCD 2010 will go back to its technological origins. The Show will focus in particular on innovation, proposing special events, dedicated exhibitions areas and/or conferences/workshops aimed at the promotion of interactive whiteboard projects, the Classi 2.0 (Forms 2.0) project, as well as the various protocols activated by the MIUR (the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research).
EARLY CHILDHOOD: ABCD will be a multifaceted event. One of its leading themes will undoubtedly be early childhood and everything revolving around pre-school education, with a special focus on crèches and all related needs in terms of tools and methodologies.
SCHOOL AND STUDENT TOURISM: Another important event at ABCD will be BTS2, the Borsa del Turismo Scolastico e Studentesco (School and Student Tourism Exchange), which this year will be held for the fourteenth time. This year’s edition will differ from the previous ones because of the new European dimension taken on by this event, devoted to the movement of young people across the continent. The organisers are currently establishing contacts with various European institutions, companies, and tour operators interested in promoting Italy in their respective countries as a school and young people tourist destination and, conversely, in offering Italian students the opportunity to study and stays in other EU countries.
DIET AND SCHOOLS: Healthy eating is becoming an increasingly important aspect in today’s schools. ABCD intends to be innovative in this crucial sector too, by promoting a campaign aimed at spreading and supporting correct and conscious eating. During the Show, many outstanding paediatricians and nutritionists will come to Genoa to take part in the numerous scheduled events.
TRAINING: ABCD 2010 will take place at the same time as ORIENTAMENTI (GUIDANCE), an institutional event organised jointly by the Liguria Regional Council and Genoa Provincial Council and aiming to offer guidance to young people as they find their way in choosing a school, a university or a profession.
AWARENESS-RAISING CAMPAIGNS: One of the Show's objectives is also to promote awareness-raising campaigns devoted to several topical issues, like environmental protection, traffic education, safe driving, the fight against alcohol and drugs, and safe sex. The common denominator – the real fil rouge of the Show - will be sustainability, which ABCD is promoting in the framework of the initiatives dedicated to the UN’s International Year of Biodiversity.
